This site has been prepared as an adjunct site to the Bucks Mont Katrina Relief Project web site as a resource for groups wanting to organize a Katrina Relief. trip to the Waveland Bay St. Louis area.

However, this page is available to any and all groups who wish to utilize this site, regardless of whether your trip or group is part of the Bucks Mont Relief project. It is intended to be a way for the community at large to see what trips are happening and also for each project team to coordinate logistics within their group.

If you would like to be listed (and use the site to coordinate your group’s logistics), you must register with the site using the link provided. You can register here.

After registering, you may then go to the Projects and Upcoming Trips Page and create your own trip listing. Your group’s project will then appear on the list, and you may then update your link with current information to your team. You must provide your team with the password to the link for your team for them to be able to access it. They may link to your information either by using the link on the projects page, or by clicking on the date on the calendar page.

Travel and Project Planning FAQ: When our first groups were preparing to go down to help, there were many basic questions that took a lot of time to answer: where would we stay, what was available as far as food, facilities, tools and materials, etc. And most importantly, where could we help the most. Here you will find general information with directions, housing and food, contacts who can tell you what projects need to be done and even a suggested packing list. This information has been compiled from people and groups who have traveled to the area, and it is constantly being updated as we learn more.

Project and Upcoming Trips: On this site you can see, listed chronologically, the various trips that groups have planned to the area. If you have an interest in a particular trip, please get in touch directly with the contact person listed.
This site is intended to be a resource for any groups wishing to use it, nationwide, so feel free to list your trip and make use of the projects and calendar pages to coordinate information between group members (another time consuming function).

Directory of Contacts: When you register, your contact person will automatically be listed in the Directory of Contacts.

Please feel free to let us know of suggestions you may have to make this website more helpful to Katrina groups. Anything that can be done to keep the focus on the work that needs to be done and less time spent preparing for the trips and projects is a good thing!
